Defenitely lives up to its name

Had the 3 course tasting menus which we found to be beautifully presented and the dessert was magic. At 36 euro it is good value. we had a mackerel starter, veal main and mango and chocolate dessert. Although it was all great the dessert was the best I have ever eaten. There were 8 elements including a white chocolate bonbon with passion fruit juice (sensational).Next to my favourite Juuls this was the best venue I was lucky enough to enjoy in Amsterdam.

Foodie to the max
6

Wow, this place strives to please but is obnoxiously foodie. The server had to explain every single thing on our plates -- there was lots of foam-this and puree-that. My beef entree was sent back because it was luke-warm. Everything tasted fine, but we couldn't wait to leave.

Disfrutando los sentidos
10

Well worth a visit

I loved the look of the menu so we gave it a go for lunch. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the staff very knowledgeable and helpful. We went for the surprise tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of the best

Senses restaurant is one of the best in Amsterdam for this price range. There's a great atmosphere and the food is terrific. The surprise menu (we had five courses + the amuse-bouche) is well balanced, beautifully presented and equally tasty. It's a reflection of how highly we rate this restaurant that it's been on our to-do list for the past few years - very few survive that long. I do have a couple of minor niggles, but none will stop me going back in January when we next visit Amsterdam. We had booked for a Tuesday. I had a call later that day to say there had been a mistake and that we could come another day and get a free bottle of wine for the inconvenience. As we had spare days this was no problem and the free wine was a welcome bonus. My issue was that when we arrived we had to explain this to the waiter (who was new). It was sorted quite quickly, but it would have been nice for someone to come talk to us to apologise in person and to say they hope we enjoy the wine. As I said, a small point. My other issue is that - being even more picky, and an opinion not shared by my wife - some of the dishes had one ingredient too many; slightly over-engineered. Fabulous restaurant, great value. Can't wait for January!

Treat your senses

Amongst the wealth of great restaurants in Amsterdam Senses really stands out. The food is nothing short of extraordinary and delivered in rather amazing presentations. It exceeded my expectations and I can recommend it highly. Especially good with the surprise menu and wine pairing.

Great experience

We really enjoyed our dinner at Senses. From the welcome to departure we were treated with outstanding customer service. Our waiters Sjaak and Paco went out of their way to make our meal enjoyable. We chose the three course surprise meal and one wine pairing. We were pleasantly surprised with the presentation and taste although sometimes it was out of our comfort level. The cost of the meal was comparable to other restaurants of this caliber in Amsterdam. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had the 3 course surprise menu which was certainly a tasty surprise. All the courses were full of different flavours and the presentation was fantastic. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Would for sure recommened this place for anyone having a break in amsterdam. A delicious experience

I recently visited Senses with two friends while traveling in Amsterdam. We all opted to get the three course chefs menu, and it did not disappoint. All of the food that we tasted throughout the night was extremely aesthetically pleasing, Senses clearly prides themselves on the presentation of their food along with the taste. Everything that we tasted was delicious and all of the flavors complemented each other well. The portion sizes were perfect for our three courses, and we left feeling full without being overly full. The only con of the restaurant was that it was extremely loud inside. We had a hard time hearing the server when they were explaining the courses and a hard time hearing each other when talking.
