Certificate of excellence 2020

It's clear that this young incredible talented head chef has all the potential to become a Michelin star chef. Our 6 course surprise menu was absolutely beautiful with an excellent mix of fish, meat and vegetable tasting dishes accompanied with excellent wine choices made by the girl in front of house was heaven. The stunning presented dishes tasted as good as they looked. When I'm in Amsterdam I'll definitely be back at this little pearl.

Very special

From the moment you enter until you depart you are in for a special dining experience. The food's excellent and the staff are attentive and eager to explain each dish for you. The are presented beautifully and even before opening your mouth you are assaulted visually. The tastes do not let you down. One of the best restaurants I have eaten in in Amsterdam without doubt and I look forward to returning in the near future.

What a surprise this place was! You could easily walk past Senses without having any idea of the treat that would await you inside. We went for lunch and had the 3 course "Surprise Menu" - in the end it was more like 5 courses. Each course was interesting, beautifully presented and above all, completely delicious. I so highly recommend this place - especially if you are a bit of a foodie and like experimenting. The service was also extremely good. My only regret is that we had gone for dinner instead and had more courses!

Hidden surprise

Hidden amongst the tourist trap that is Rembrandtplein, this restaurant was a welcome surprise. We opted for the 5 course surprise menu. Each course was beautiful and had good taste pairings (except for the replacement dish for the one who dislikes pork). A great experience, thank you!

Outstanding - one of the best meals ever

This place is amazing. Tell them what you don't want, then wait for the food to come. The 5 courses we picked turned into probably 7/8 with the little extras and we were there for a 3 hour culinary journey! Compliments to the chef. The dessert was to die for with mandarin/white chocolate/yoghurt, even the bread and olive oil was remarkable. We kept wanting more and more and now I want to recommend it to the world :) Those from London - I dare you to find an equally brilliant food feast in London for the price too! Super value.

The most interesting food I had in Amsterdam

I was in Amsterdam for two weeks on business and saw the sign for this eclectic restaurant offering food to titillate all the senses. There were literally no customers but it had good reviews so I walked in and ordered the multi course tasting menu. It ended up being about 35 us dollars as I recall which was stunningly cheap for how good the food was. Amazing presentation and flavors, almost pure art. My favorite restaurant in the entire city. A great date place too.

birthday Dinner Celebration

After a long day running around Amsterdam it was fantastic to pull into Senses to have a relaxed dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. We decided to have the 4 course mystery menu paired with 4 wines. It was absolutely sublime! Each dish was explained as it came to the table as well as each wine. We also had an opportunity to see some of the other dishes coming from the kitchen and everything looked as well as smelled amazing! Our wallets were definitely a little lighter after the bill but it was worth every cent. Loved our experience there.

Once again a splendid evening

Second time we had a course surprise dinner, and it was once again exciting food combinations. All the dishes looked wonderful, a true picture. Presentation, food quality, and diversity all top of the bill. Time flies when you are surrounded with good food.

Very impressive experience!

We found 'Senses' here on trip advisor and as it was only a 10 minute walk from where we were staying, we decided to give it a go. We booked a few days before our visit and although we were the 2nd table in at 7pm, it soon filled up and it was full when we left at 9pm so I suggest a reservation. We're quite adventurous with food so opted for the 3 course surprise menu and accompanying wine. Boy what a surprise it was! I can't even begin to remember exactly what we were eating as there were so many flavours but it was all amazing! The presentation was incredible and we devoured each course amid hmmmms and ahhhhhss! The service was perfect and I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for any foodies out there visiting the Dam.

A foodie delight

We went to Senses based on reviews we read on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. If you want a wonderful food experience, this is the place to go. We went with the 5 course menu and enjoyed all of the dishes we were served. My suggestion is to go with the wine pairing as well. Unfortunately we did not realize they had this option so we had ordered a bottle of wine first.
